DAT BODY FIT CAMPUS” IS ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING FITNESS CENTERS IN THE CITY.
WHAT DO YOU ATTRIBUTE TO YOUR CENTER’S POPULARITY?
BF:
A woman’s touch. My husband started the company by himself years ago but it was
missing a woman’s touch. Our clientele is 95% female, so adding the features to
the gym of what women want when they are looking for a fitness center became my
vision and to make it manifest.
WHAT
DOES YOUR PROCESS LOOK LIKE TO PREPARE TO TEACH A FITNESS CLASS?
BF: A
few different scenarios make up the process: knowing who I will be teaching
(beginners or advanced members), the playlist is KEY (I love to workout to
uptempo trap music lol), and trying to give a mixture of exercises to clients
that are fun and get results.

ON MENTAL HEALTH. HOW DO YOU INFUSE INSPIRATION INTO YOU CLASSES TO
PROMOTE MENTAL STRENGTH?
BF:
Well to start, we always stretch to gospel music which I feel brings the correct
energy to the class because you never know what someone is going through and it
eases their minds. Second, I love to play music of empowerment and
encouragement. Third, while my clients are working out I walk around screaming
motivational words and affirmations to them to continue.
MOST
OF THE TIME YOU ARE THE ONE LEADING CLASSES. WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITIES DO YOU USE
FOR MAINTAINING YOUR FITNESS GOALS?
BF:
Honestly I’m a gym rat! I don’t participate in any other physical activities
besides weightlifting. That is where I get into my zone , headphones on, and
put in work.

ARE A MULTI-CAREER WOMAN WHO IS A COACH, FITNESS PERSONALITY,BUSINESS OWNER
WIFE AND MOTHER. HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN BALANCE?
BF:
Girllllll... it’s a struggle, but I love it. It is truly a challenge, but it
makes me better. Sometimes I think it can be overwhelming but I also understand
that God wouldn’t give me anything that I can’t handle. Balancing
can be challenging because I have to be attentive to my home, my husband, my child, and the gym without letting any area slack. I don’t get an A+ in all areas at the same time but I try to balance as much as I can

host a date night workout for couples at our gym. You can also go bike riding,
canoeing in City Park, and just working out with each other to keep each other
motivated.
